A COMPANY FROM MORDOVIA HAS LAUNCHED A JOINT ENTERPRISE IN BURUNDI

A company from Mordovia has launched a joint enterprise in the Eastern Africa. The plant for lamps and streetlights production was opened in Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi. The lamps and streetlights will be produced under TLLINNO trademark. Saransk plant Lisma owns 49% share of the enterprise.

The project of first Lisma subsidiary in Africa started six months ago. TLLINNO company was registered on October 18, 2016. In summer 2017 Burundi received the first batch of lamps made on Lisma. In several months, the engineers from Lisma came to Burundi for equipment installation.

TLLINNO is the first lighting production in the Eastern Africa. Until now, all the lamps were imported there from China and Europe. The workers of the plant from Africa will be trained in Saransk. According to the experts, the most popular will be LED and filament light bulbs, high-pressure gas discharge lamps and lamps with solar array.

In the ceremony of production start there participated the Ambassador of Russia in Burundi Georgy Todua, second Vice-President of Burundi Joseph Butore, Deputy Chairman of the Government – Minister of industry, science and new technologies of the Republic of Mordovia Alexander Sedov. The experts from Lisma told about the production technology and perspectives for development.

Ex-advisor of the second Vice-President of Burundi Mais Sagamba has become Director General of TLLINNO. Igor Konstantinov, Director General of Lisma, was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Lisma is the largest manufacturer of light sources in Russia and CIS countries. About 300 different items are produced there. Lisma lamps are supplied to all the regions of Russia. About 15% of the products are exported.
