A large-scale production of pharmaceutical substances has been launched in Mordovia
Production of pharmaceutical substances for 150 items was officially launched in Saransk on the basis of “Biochemist” JSC (part of the “Promomed” group of companies). These include drugs against cancer and cardiovascular diseases, HIV, as well as antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs and muscle relaxants.
The new plant is one of the country's largest producers of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) with a capacity of 340 tons per year. It includes seven sites, two of which will synthesize molecules for manufacturing anticancer drugs. Other sites will produce molecules for synthetic antibiotics, with the exception of beta-lactam, antiviral and antiretroviral drugs and muscle relaxants.
Construction went on for two years. Most of the equipment was produced in Russia. Investments in the project amounted to over 3.7 billion rubles. The opening of a new production complex will create more than 120 jobs.
