A RECORD AMOUNT OF SUGAR HAS BEEN PRODUCED IN MORDOVIA
The sugar production in Mordovia has exceeded all expectations. By January 16, the Romodanovo sugar factory, where the sugar beet processing season is now ending, produced 145 thousand tons of sugar, which is almost 63 thousand tons more than the last year.
Experts say that the production of sugar in the region increased not only because of the fact that in comparison with 2018, more sugar beets were collected off the fields. It was also because of the temperature regime on the fields. It allowed root vegetables to accumulate more sugar.
