BELARUS AND MORDOVIA STRENGTHEN COOPERATION

The delegation of Mordovia continues to work at the SPIEF-2023 site. According to the official portal of the state authorities of the Republic of Mordovia, on June 15, the forum began with a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation Dmitry Krutoy.

From the region, the meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Ministers of the Republic of Mordovia Natalia Tarkaeva and Batyr Emeev, Acting Minister of Economy, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Mordovia Ivan Gorin, representatives of the industrial business community. Belarus was represented by First Deputy Minister of Industry of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Ogorodnikov, First Deputy Minister of Architecture and Construction of the Republic of Belarus Oleg Shvets.

The parties discussed a number of issues related to the expansion of cooperation ties, import substitution, construction, education, sports, agriculture and forest resources.

The topic of import substitution was discussed in terms of providing national economies with domestic software, hardware and software complexes and telecommunications equipment.

The Republic of Mordovia showed interest in the joint production of vehicles based on the chassis of the Minsk Automobile Plant, joint developments in car building were considered.

The sides also discussed the humanitarian sphere in detail. Agreements were reached to expand student exchange programs in the field of healthcare.

To further build cooperation, Dmitry Krutoy invited representatives of Mordovia to visit Belarus. An agenda will be formed beforehand, taking into account promising projects that are mutually beneficial for implementation. The delegates from Mordovia also invited their colleagues to visit our republic.

Recall that the Republic of Belarus is one of the key partners of Mordovia. Currently, over 60 enterprises of our republic maintain trade and economic relations with the state, and by the end of 2022, the volume of foreign trade turnover of Mordovia with Belarus has increased to 131.2%.
