CHAIRMAN OF THE FEDERAL COUNCIL VALENTINA MATVIYENKO AND HEAD OF MORDOVIA VLADIMIR VOLKOV DISCUSSED THE PERSPECTIVES OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE REGION
Chairman of the Federal Council Valentina Matviyenko hold a meeting with Head of the Republic of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov.
In the meeting, there also participated Chairman of the State Assembly of the Republic of Mordovia Vladimir Chibirkin, First Deputy Chairman of the Federal Council’s Committee on international affairs Serguey Kislyak and Deputy Chairman of the Federal Council’s Committee on federal structure, regional policy, local governments and the North affairs Vladimir Lityushkin. The two Senate parliamentarians represent Mordovia in the upper chamber of the parliament.
During the meeting, they discussed social and economic development of the republic.
Valentina Matviyenko emphasized the importance of Days of the Republic of Mordovia at the Federal Council. It is a good opportunity to make a presentation of the region at the federal level and attract attention of federal ministries, agencies and committees to the problems of the region.
Chairman of the Federal Council and Head of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov looked around the exposition devoted to the past, present and future of the republic. There were presented new promising technological projects, ethnic art-territory of the region, products of agroindustrial complex and craftworks such as wooden Tavla toys.
