HEAD OF THE REPUBLIC OF MORDOVIA KEEPS HIS POSITION AMONG TOP 12 INFLUENTIAL GOVERNORS
As a result of December, Head of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov is one of the Russian Governors with very strong influence. He keeps 12 position in the rating of influence of heads of the Russian regions by the Agency of Political and Economic Communications (APEC)
Two leaders of the rating remained unchanged. They are the mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin (1st) and Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov (2nd). Governor of Tyumen oblast Vladimir Yakushev became the third.
Dmitry Orlov, the Director General of APEC, pointed out that in December the strengthening positions of the heads of regions were influenced by steps and announcements of the President of Russia, decisions of the Russian Government on financial support of the regions following the results of the year as well as protests in the regions.
The rating of influence of heads of the Russian regions is based on the expert poll. In December, 2017 28 experts, including political analysts, strategists, journalists and media experts participated in the poll.
