IN MORDOVIA, THE NATIONAL PROJECT HELPS ELEVATE ANCIENT PROFESSIONS TO A QUALITATIVELY NEW LEVEL

The cooper from the Bolshebereznikovsky district, Oleg Burov, is widely known not only in our republic but also far beyond its borders. With his own hands, he creates beautiful utensils and household items from what may seem like lifeless pieces of wood, which are purchased by residents and guests of Mordovia.

Oak barrels for pickling and beverages, plates, trays, cutting boards, salad bowls – this is far from a complete list of products made by his hands.

Oleg began producing wooden items not by chance – it's a multi-generational family history. Despite the fact that technologies have firmly integrated into our modern lives and virtually replaced manual labor, the Burov family business continues to thrive. Contributing to this is the national project “Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiative”, initiated by the President and overseen by the First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov.

It is worth noting that Oleg was the first in the republic to master segment wood work of several types of wood. These include alder, elm, and black oak. In this technique, the self-employed craftsman produces salad bowls, vases, and deep bowls. And participation in the exhibition-forum “Russia” gave him the opportunity to work with sea oak.
