MORDOVIA ARENA WILL HOST A UEFA EURO 2020 QUALIFYING MATCH
Football fans in Saransk will have an opportunity to watch one of the Russian team’s UEFA EURO 2020 qualifying games. The national teams of Russia and San-Marino will meet at the main stadium of Mordovia – Mordovia Arena. The game will take place on 8th of June.

- It is so nice to see the capital of Mordovia as one of the cities to host important UEFA EURO 2020 qualifying games, - stated Head of the Republic of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov. – Summer last year Saransk proved that it’s capable of hosting tens of thousands of fans from all over the world at the highest level and was rated as the most comfortable and welcoming World Cup host city. I am sure that the game of the Russian team in Saransk will be the most important football event of the year and its organization will meet the best of the standards.
The region’s leader noted that it is crucial to use the 2018 FIFA World Cup legacy effectively and give this sport a boost in Mordovia.
The idea of creating a children’s football school is being actively discussed right now, says Russian Newspaper. The negotiations are under way not only the regional football coaches but also with some of the representatives of Football Masters chain of schools. Its branches are already open in Nizhny Novgorod and Samara.
The cost of operation of the Stadium will be covered by the federal budget this year. The concept of 2018 FIFA World Cup legacy approved by Russian Government says that during the next four years the Federal Treasury’s co-financing will come up to 95 percent. It is planned that Mordovia Arena will bring money mostly by hosting the football games. Its other sources of income may include organization and holding of entertainment and corporate events, rental of premises and grounds.
