MORDOVIA ESTABLISHED EXPORT PRESENCE ON THE PORK MARKETS OF SOUTH-EASTERN ASIA
Mordovian meat producers entered the markets of Southeast Asia. TALINA Agricultural Holding signed contracts for the export of pork and the offal to the largest financial center of the region. A few days ago the first sea container with goods sailed to Hong Kong. Next in line is Vietnam. Last year this country faced the negative consequences of the African swine fever epidemic. This is the first such experience for the region. As predicted by the National Meat Association (NMA), in total 20 percent of the increase in pork production in Russia will be sent to foreign markets.
We recall that over the past five years exports from Mordovia have grown almost five-fold: from 4.5 to 21 billion rubles. The region supplies products to 66 countries all over the world. It is planned to increase the export volume by at least 9 percent in 2020, and by 2024 this figure will increase by 1.8 times and exceed $ 515 million.
