MORDOVIA IS 13th IN THE RATING OF INNOVATIVE REGIONS OF RUSSIA
Mordovia is 13th in the rating of Association of Innovative Regions of Russia. The republic has strengthened its position compared to the one of 2017 and entered the group of strong innovators. Once again, the leaders of the rating are St. Petersburg, Moscow and Tatarstan.
According to the media office of Head of the Republic of Mordovia, the rating of 2017 is based on 29 indicators. Three basic blocks of indicators, i.e. scientific research and development, innovative activity, social and economic conditions for innovative activity, remained unchanged.
The rating differs from those of previous years by six new indicators united in one block “Innovative activity of the region”. It assesses the work of regional authorities in such areas as innovative events management, infrastructure development and participants’ application of federal measures of support and cooperation with federal development institutes.
According to the Head of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov, the republic is aimed at long-term priority development and ready to cooperate with creative business. In 2017, 12 new plants started their operation. 6 plants are under construction.
