MORDOVIA IS IN TOP 20 REGIONS OF RUSSIA IN MILK PRODUCTION
According to Rosstat, for the first 5 months of 2017 small, medium and large enterprises of the Republic of Mordovia have produced 137.6 thousand tons of milk. It is 4.2. per cent higher than during the same period of 2016.
The leaders of “milk” rating are the Republic of Tatarstan, Krasnodar region and the Udmurt Republic.
The authorities of Mordovia are going to keep the rates of agricultural production growth. According to interim Head of the Republic of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov, this year it is planned to produce over 415 thousand tons of milk. In doing so, every cow is to give 6,000 kilos of milk and by 2022 it should be 7,000 kilos.
For the last five years over 40 billion rubles were put up in the development of agriculture of the republic. Mordovia is one of the top 5 regions of Russia concerning meat, eggs and milk production per capita (506 liters of milk, 345 kilos of meat and 1,760 eggs).
It is a long time Mordovia has been providing its population with all the staples. Over 60 % of products of Mordovia agro-industrial complex are supplied to 68 regions of Russia and abroad.
