MORDOVIA IS PLANNING TO BECOME THE BIGGEST ROSE GROWER IN RUSSIA
Every 12 out of 100 roses are grown in Mordovia today. And during the next few years the region is planning to become the biggest rose grower in the country.
There are more than 40 different kinds of this queen of flowers in Mordovia. This is the widest range of roses in Russia. Every day nearly 100 thousand roses are being cut here.
Head of the Republic of Mordovia’s press service stated that they put most of their hopes into the modern greenhouse complex that is made to grow roses using Dutch technologies. It is called Mir Tsvetov JSC (The World of Flowers). The complex has the machinery made by Dalsem B.V. company from The Netherlands and includes 5 greenhouses within an area of 15 hectares. Last year 34.1 million roses were grown here.
Flower industry in Mordovia is rapidly developing as a new sector of the agricultural economy with all its up-to-date and modern technologies, - stated Head of the Republic of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov. He assured everyone that the region’s administration will continue to support this agricultural sector in the region.
The authorities’ position is to build new flower growing enterprises in the hinterland to help generate employment.
Mir Tsvetov grows flowers in Kadoshkino region and the farthest region from Saransk – Tengushevo. The odorous goods are sold to every other region of the country and they are also exported to Belarus. The flower growers of Mordovia are planning to enter the countries of the Customs Union markets in the near future.
