MORDOVIA IS THE LAUREATE OF THE RUSSIAN TRAVEL AWARDS
In St. Petersburg, the results of the III Russian Travel Awards were announced. In the category “Region of Cultural and Educational Tourism” Mordovia took third place.
The Republic participated in the final of the competition for the first time. In its nomination, our region presented the concept of cultural and educational tourism through the image of the great Mordovian tree.
Cultural and educational tourism is one of the priorities for the region. At the end of the year, the number of tourist trips to Mordovia exceeded 300,000, which is 50% more than the previous year. In 2023, excursions for schoolchildren were organized in Mordovia as part of the cultural and educational program “My Russia”, groups were hosted for projects such as “Bright Weekend in the Volga Region”, “More than a Jorney”, the semi-final of the Russian Travel Awards took place. The Erzy Museum was visited by more than 100,000 people for the first time. Additionally, new facilities were opened, including a hospitality center at the Kemlyansky distillery, a new art space by the firm “Rostr” dedicated to bog oak.
