MORDOVIA STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIPS WITH CHINA
On November 8, the Head of Mordovia Artyom Zdunov took part in a meeting of the Council for Interregional Cooperation in the Volga-Yangtze format. The meeting took place in Nanchang (People's Republic of China). The delegation of the Volga Federal District was headed by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District, Igor Komarov.
The Head of Mordovia spoke at the meeting about the key areas of the economy and humanitarian sphere of the region. Artyom Zdunov stressed: thanks to the efforts of the leaders of Russia and China, the strategic partnership of the two states is being strengthened. It is important for Mordovia to be a participant in this interaction. The People's Republic of China is a long-time friend and one of the main business partners of Mordovia. Trade volumes this year are showing positive dynamics - an increase of almost 40% compared to the same period last year, purchases of products made in China have increased by a third, our exports have increased more than 4 times. The republic has great potential for developing cooperation in the trade and economic field with Chinese provinces and cities.
In the field of agriculture, the republic is ready to offer China: rapeseed oil, meat and dairy products, and egg products. The republican drug manufacturer is ready to enter the Chinese market with its pharmaceutical products.
All conditions have been created in Mordovia for the implementation of investment projects. The priority social and economic development area has been created, and the creation of a special economic zone is being completed.
Developing partnerships with China in the field of science and education is another strategic task. The republic has also prepared proposals for cooperation in the field of sports and tourism.
The delegation of Mordovia received an invitation to visit Sichuan Province, where 92 million people live. The republic's business mission will be sent there.
