MORDOVIAN SCIENTISTS HAVE DEVELOPED A MIXTURE FOR A FLAMELESS FOOD HEATER

Scientists of the Ogarev Mordovia State University have developed a mixture for a flameless food heater. The proposed composition is characterized by speed of action, environmental friendliness and reduced cost in comparison with analogues. The development will be interesting for outdoor enthusiasts.

According to the official website of the university, a flameless food heater is a package with a heating element inside. It is created on the basis of inorganic salts and aluminum. When activated with water, a large amount of heat arises, due to which heating occurs. 2-3 seconds after the reaction of the liquid with the active substances, it is heated to a temperature exceeding 100 degrees with the help of superheated steam.

The developed mixture is superior in efficiency to all available analogues. The heating elements presented on the market are composed mainly of magnesium and quicklime, which are more expensive in comparison with components proposed by Mordovian scientists. In addition, during the activation of the mixture by researchers at the Ogarev Mordovia State University, environmentally friendly materials are formed that are easily disposed of as household waste.

To date, many Russian state corporations, ministries and departments are actively testing the development. And despite the fact that the flameless heater has not yet been put on sale, it has already received its first award as the most commercialized project. The diploma was awarded to Mordovian scientists at the I St. Petersburg International Youth Summit of Technobrokers, Inventors and Innovators, which took place on May 24-26.
