MORDOVIAN SCIENTISTS HAVE DEVELOPED AN INEXPENSIVE RADIO-ABSORBING MATERIAL

Scientists of Mordovian State University named after N.P. Ogarev have developed a self-adhesive radio-absorbing material. It consists of two components: a non-drying sealant and an absorbent filler. This material can be used in the temperature range from -40 °C to +100 °C.

According to the press service of Mordovian State University, electromagnetic radiation is one of the types of energy pollution of the environment. The use of protective materials can reduce it to an acceptable level. Domestic and foreign scientists have been studying this problem for more than 20 years. Many types of materials have been created. They are all basically reflective. The development of Mordovian scientists is an absorbing material.

The cost of coating per square meter with a thickness of 1 mm is estimated at 620 rubles, while analogues cost from 4 to 60 thousand rubles.
