PRESIDENT OF FIFA COMMENDED SARANSK AS A HOST CITY OF THE WORLD CUP
During his visit for one of the matches, President of FIFA Gianni Infantino praised Mordovia for readiness to the World Cup.
The President of FIFA, Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado, the Chairman of the Russia 2018 Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Arkady Dvorkovich and Director General of the Russia 2018 LOC Alexey Sorokin were special guests at Colombia-Japan match in Saransk.
During the meeting with the Head of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov, the President of FIFA commended the readiness of the Republic for the World Cup. He also noted that Saransk is a very clean and tidy city.
“On the way to Mordovia Arena from Saransk airport we had a small tour around the city with Mr. Infantino. We showed him our new modern district Tavla, downtown, the Theatre of opera and ballet and Millennium Square”, Vladimir Volkov said.
The guest liked what he had seen. “I see the long hard work of many people”, Gianni Infantino said.
