SARANSK COVID-19 MEDICINE WILL BE EXPORTED TO SOUTH AMERICA
Biokhimik (Biochemist) Saransk plant, which produces the first Russian coronavirus medicine with permanent registration, is ready to cover the needs of the domestic market for this drug completely by the end of the year. After that, they plan to establish export to the countries of the Middle East and Latin America. The medicine is already being registered in Chile.
This was reported by Dmitry Zemskov, the executive director of the plant.
Let us recall that the first batch of the COVID-19 medicine was ready in June. The development of their own technology for the full production cycle of a new antiviral agent in record time was called a real breakthrough in the Russian pharmaceutical industry.
Apart from the Saransk plant, two more domestic enterprises currently produce the favipiravir-based medicine. Despite the fact that the coronavirus medicine is not cheap, the cost of its implementation will not pay off anytime soon.
