THE BEST RUSSIAN PLOUGHERS WILL COME TO MORDOVIA
On 28-29th of June, the Open Russian Championship on ploughing will be held in Mordovia for the first time.
This is a contest of the farmers that will demonstrate the ability of the machine operators to carry out the land cultivation according to predetermined criteria with great precision. The best machine operators from Russian regions and foreign countries will gather on the Mordovian land to participate in one of the most significant agricultural events of the year.
An international panel of judges composed of members of the European Arable Federation and the World Arable Organization will assess the results of the competitions.
The criteria for assessing the ploughers’ skills will be the following: the evenness of the furrow, the plowing speed, the sameness of the depth throughout the course of the assignment. There are more than 20 indicators in total.The guests of the Championship will enjoy a spectacular show program, a fair where they can taste ecologically clean agricultural products, demonstration shows of agricultural machinery at work, equipment test-drives and an exhibition of breeding animals. More than 50 largest agricultural machine-builders will present their latest developments on a huge exposition of machinery and equipment.
A regional ploughing competition among students of specialized educational institutions of the Republic of Mordovia will be held during the Championship.
According to Izvestia of Mordovia newspaper website, the ploughing masters’ championship has been held annually since 2012. During that time, the best machine operators from 56 regions fought for the right to be called Russian champions and to represent our country at European competitions and at the world championships.
Igor Arbuzov, Alexander Safonov and Sergey Mitrofanov from “Razvitiye Sela” (Development of the Village) JSC represented Mordovia at the 7th Open Russian Championship on ploughing, held last year in Suzdal, Vladimir region. Mitrofanov also participated in the 6th Open Russian Championship on ploughing.
