THE CAPITAL OF MORDOVIA HAS BEEN RECOGNIZED AS A CITY OF ETHNOCULTURAL TOURISM

From March 28th to March 30th, the final of the First All-Russian Award “Tourist Cities” took place in Voronezh. Participants included 64 cities from 42 regions of the country.

In the nomination “City of Ethnocultural Tourism”, the first place was awarded to the capital of Mordovia. Saransk presented ethnocultural tourism through the national tourist route called “Zov toramy”. The main part of the route passes through Saransk itself. Visitors to the region immerse themselves in the ethnic culture of Mordovia through excursions to museums, interactive programs at the National Drama Theater, and tastings of national cuisine.

It is worth noting that last year the route was updated, and it now includes the tourist space “Gostiny Ryad”, the ethnographic terrace “Inenarmun”, a network of food trucks created under the national project “Tourism and Hospitality Industry”, as well as the museum “Legend of the Bog Oak”.
