THE DELEGATION OF MORDOVIA DISCUSSED COOPERATION WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE INDIAN BUSINESS ALLIANCE AT THE SPIEF 2023 SITE
On June 14, a working meeting of the delegation of the Republic of Mordovia with the President of the Non-profit Partnership "Indian Business Alliance" Manoj Dhalumal Kotwani took place at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2023. This is reported by the official portal of the state authorities of the Republic of Mordovia.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Mordovia Batyr Emeev, Acting Minister of Economy, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Mordovia Ivan Gorin, Rector of the Ogarev Mordovia State University Dmitry Glushko, as well as CEO of RM Rail Maxim Tevs.
Recall that India is a strategic partner of our republic. The main exported goods of Mordovia are ferrous scrap, electrical devices, wood and woodworking products.
The Government of Mordovia continues to work on strengthening foreign trade relations with India. In 2021, the Head of Mordovia, Artem Zdunov, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Russian Federation, D.B. Venkatesh Varma in Saransk. During the meeting the main directions of mutually beneficial cooperation were identified. In 2022, a business mission of enterprises of the Republic of Mordovia took place in Delhi, during which products from Mordovian manufacturers were offered to Indian trading platforms.
This year, at SPIEF 2023, the parties discussed the prospects for further cooperation between Mordovia and India. The sides exchanged views on bilateral cooperation in the field of car building, as well as the import of biochemical products from India. In order to further build economic ties, Indian partners received an invitation to visit the capital of the Republic - Saransk.
The meeting took place at the stand of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia (AIRR). More than 70 business meetings and signings of agreements in the field of economy and territorial development are planned at the AIRR site within the framework of the forum. The Republic of Mordovia has been a member of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia since 2010.
