THE DRAW HAS DEFINED THE COMPOSITION OF EIGHT GROUPS FOR 2018 FIFA WORLD CUP
2018 World Cup ambassadors from Saransk made a presentation of the city the day before the Final Draw. Journalists from different countries and ambassadors from other cities learned more about Saransk through booklets and souvenirs. The most active visitors had an opportunity to get a mordvin’s passport during a joke ceremony.
According to the Final Draw results Mordovia Arena in Saransk is going to host four matches of group stage: Peru and Denmark (June 16), Colombia and Japan (June 19), Portugal and Iran (June 25), Panama and Tunisia (June 28).
The striker of Dinamo and Russian national team, 2018 World Cup ambassador of Saransk Kirill Panchenko noted that all the matches that will take place on Mordovia Arena are going to be fascinating. A lot of people will come to see the game with Cristiano Ronaldo. Kirill also pointed out that Panama will participate in the World Cup for the first time, which is also very intriguing.
During his conversation with journalists, Petr Tultaev, the Head of Saransk, mentioned that he is satisfied with the results of the Final Draw. Hospitality is a trait of Mordovia national character and Saransk is ready to welcome football players and fans.
Petr Tultaev: “Our city is not big and it is our advantage. We are going to involve the entire city into this football festival. Everyone will feel its atmosphere. We are waiting for our new friends. Now we know the teams we are going to host and will create the most comfortable conditions for them.”
