THE HEAD OF THE REPUBLIC OF MORDOVIA DISCUSSED THE REGION’S CABLE CLUSTER DEVELOPMENT ISSUES
The head of the republic of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov held a business meeting with the management of the Optikenergo company group: Evir Boksimer, the chairman of the board of directors and Mikhail Boksimer, the CEO. They discussed the cable company results of 2019 and the production plans for 2020.
Last year, the enterprises of the company group showed an increase in production (by 103%), 120 additional jobs were created and the average salary amounted to 41 thousand rubles.
As of today, according to the Electrocable Association assessment, Saransk is considered to be the center of Russian cable industry. The total production of cable enterprises in Mordovia stands at 25 billion rubles, which is one tenth of the gross regional product.
The head of the republic of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov emphasized that the enterprises of the region’s cable cluster are faced with the task of more active entry into foreign markets. Now the cable production of the region is supplied to 16 countries all over the world, including China, USA, Israel, India and Austria. The export mainly includes fiber optic, control and power cables, including cross-linked polyethylene cables, communication cables, and wire rod.
