THE PROJECT ON PRODUCTION OF THE FIFTH-GENERATION ANTIBIOTICS IS BEING IMPLEMENTED IN SARASNSK
For the next three years Saransk plant Biokhimik is going to launch the production of 20 latest antibiotics.
It was discussed during the meeting between Vladimir Volkov, Head of the Republic of Mordovia and Petr Bely, Chairman of the Board of Directors of group of companies PROMOMED Biokhimik that took place on January 12 and was devoted to the results of the year.
In 2017, Biokhimik developed four substances of fifth-generation antibiotics. The industrial production of the substances will start after their registration is completed. At the moment Russian manufacturers import substances for antibiotics production from China, India, Korea and Europe.
The production of vancomycin is reaching its full capacity and by the autumn of 2018 it will have covered the demands of the internal market for this antibiotic.
In December 2016 Biokhimik, National research Mordovia State University named after N.P. Ogaryov and Government of the Republic signed an agreement on set up of a specialized department of chemistry and technology of physically active substances aimed at research in synthesis of new antibiotics. The department will start its operation in February 2018. A special laboratory will provide the students with an opportunity to apply their skills and knowledge in practical work. There are no analogues to the department in Russia. It will contribute significantly to training of professional staff.
More than that, this year the company is going to complete the construction of a workshop for production of medicines and active pharmaceutical ingredients, which will open a new chapter of the company’s history. For the next three years Biokhimk will start manufacturing over 20 latest antibiotics.
