THE REPUBLIC OF MORDOVIA WAS PRESENTED IN ANHUI PROVINCE, CHINA
The third joint working group of representatives of the Russian Federation on cooperation with Anhui Province was held in China on May 10-21. Representatives of Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Mordovia, Udmurtia, Kirov, Orenburg, Penza and Ulyanovsk regions participated in the event.
Mordovia was represented by Ministry of economy, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, N.P. Ogarev Mordovia State University, Mordovia Development Corporation, Republican Hospital No.5 and Agency of innovative development.
11 presentations of industrial and investment potential of the Russian regions as well as the presentation of Anhui province were held during the visit. The participants of the working group noted the high level of the event. Volunteers accompanied every delegation and provided Russian-Chinese interpretation.
According to Andrei Lobanov, the Head of Investment Projects Center of Mordovia Development Corporation, to attract Chinese investors to the region it is necessary to meet the following conditions:
‘First of all, it is an investment site with necessary infrastructure, secondly, a stable political situation which guarantees doing business with no risks, and, finally, reliability of words, given to an investor at the beginning of cooperation’.
As the result of the visit, Mordovia received several proposals for cooperation. ‘There was a proposal from a tea company as well as from companies willing to sell mushrooms and plumbing equipment to Russia’ Andrei Lobanov told.
