THE INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL AT SARANSK AIRPORT HAS STARTED OPERATING
On May 28, an international terminal was opened at Saransk Airport. The total funding for the project amounted to approximately 1 billion rubles. The terminal features 7 passport control booths, two of which are designated for passengers with reduced mobility. The facility is equipped with intelligent border and customs control systems, real-time video surveillance, access control and management systems, and other modern equipment. The terminal's capacity is 140 passengers per hour.
THE MORDOVIAN ASSOCIATION WON THE “BEST REGIONAL BRANCH OF THE RSPP” COMPETITION
This week in Moscow, the winners of the “Best Regional Branch of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP)” competition for 2023 were awarded. The Mordovian Association became the leader in the category “For Active Participation in the RSPP Agenda”. This is the third victory for the “Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Mordovia”. In 2021, the organization received an award in the category “For Effective Interaction with Government Bodies”, and in 2022, “For Dynamic Development of the Membership Base”.
Ivan Mezhnov was recognized as the best entrepreneur of Mordovia
The results of the competition "Entrepreneur of the Republic of Mordovia" based on the results of work for 2023 have become known. The rolling Cup of the Best Entrepreneur of Mordovia was awarded to Ivan Mezhnov, Director of Gofroupakovka LLC. The company has been operating since 2019. Its main focus is the production of corrugated cardboard and corrugated packaging. The products are supplied to large enterprises in Mordovia.

Mordovia and Cuba are establishing cooperation
Head of Mordovia Artem Zdunov is currently in Cuba. The regional leader held a working meeting with the governor of Matanzas Province, Marieta Caridad Poey Zamora. “Mordovia and Cuba are getting closer! Despite the imposed restrictions on Russia, we continue to explore foreign markets. Some representatives from the region are currently in China, while we, along with federal colleagues, are working in the Republic of Cuba. We are interested in exporting optical fiber, resuming supplies of industrial wagons of various modifications, involving our enterprises in the restoration of oil storage facilities, and providing education for Cuban students in the universities of our republic.
The Russian Ministry of Economic Development has summarized the results of the regional ranking for the level of public-private partnership (PPP) development for 2023. The Republic of Mordovia ranked 52nd. The rankings were based on the assessment of three factors: the results of PPP project implementations in 2023 and in previous years, the performance of government authorities, their openness to investors, and their willingness to support PPP projects.
THE ANNUAL INTERREGIONAL LAND FORUM “MASTOR” WILL TAKE PLACE IN SARANSK
On May 27thand 28th, 2024, with the participation of Rosimushchestvo, the Annual Interregional Land Forum “Mastor” will take place in the Republic of Mordovia. The event is aimed at facilitating dialogue and exchanging experiences in land and property relations between federal and regional authorities to increase the efficiency of land and property management in the Russian Federation. It serves as a non-commercial platform for professional communication among specialists and experts in the land and property complex.
The second day of the XV International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum” for the Head of Mordovia, Artem Zdunov, and the region's delegation began with participation in the session “Russia – Islamic World: International Interregional Activation”. Its participants discussed the prospects for cooperation between Russia and the Islamic world countries, opportunities to strengthen mutual understanding and trust among different cultures and religions.
The sustainable development of cities and settlements is in close balance with state, public and private interests, with infrastructure development and ecosystem preservation, ensuring a decent standard of living for the population and the quality of the urban environment. Achieving these goals is possible only through comprehensive solutions, both in the short and long term. This topic was discussed at the XV International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum”. Head of Mordovia Artem Zdunov participated as a speaker in the session “Interconnection of spatial data, construction, and technologies in the development of territories”.
REGIONS WILL BE ABLE TO START WORKING WITH RESIDENTS OF SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONES MORE QUICKLY
Three orders have been approved aimed at improving the mechanism of special economic zones (SEZs). This was reported by the official website of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia. In particular, the form of the agreement on the establishment and management of SEZs has been approved, as well as the procedure for submitting applications for the creation and expansion of SEZs, the forms of the passport and financial models of investment projects of residents, criteria and methods for their evaluation.
THE INVESTMENT MAP OF THE REPUBLIC OF MORDOVIA HAS BEEN UPDATED
Over the past few months, work has been ongoing to modernize the Investment Map of the Republic of Mordovia. A significant amount of work has been done to create new layers such as “Labor Resources”, “Social Infrastructure” and the Special Economic Zone “Sistema”. Specifically, the latter contains information about land plots and buildings offered to potential residents, as well as details on properties available for purchase. The “Labor Resources” layer provides information on the number of graduates and the fields of study of specialists in higher and secondary vocational education institutions.
