THE WORLD CUP BOOSTED THE ECONOMY OF MORDOVIA
During the preparation for the FIFA World Cup 2018тм the economy of Mordovia has grown by 123-125%, the average annual growth has been about 5%. By this indicator the region is a one of the leaders in Russia.
First Deputy Chairman of the Government - Minister of economy, trade and industry of Mordovia Vladimir Mazov: "We estimate that for next five years the economy of the republic will have grown by 5-6%."
He pointed out that during the preparation for the World Cup, the construction complex was rapidly developing. The minister also noted the growth of trade given the World Cup. In retail sales the turnover was 46 billion rubles. Sales in the region has grown by 10%, in Russia in average by 1-2%.
The volume of investment in the preparation for the World Cup compared to non-host cities, which did not build the strong infrastructure, the republic has moved forward for thirty years. Without the event, the development of airport, hotels, transport, utilities and sport infrastructure would take much more time.
He also added that during the preparation for the World Cup in the republic there were created 60 thousand jobs.
Entrepreneurs of Mordovia had great experience resulted in different business and service culture. We still have a lot to do, but we have already changed our economic point of view. Now the business has a different vision and attitudes.
