A NEW GREENHOUSE COMPLEX FOR ROSE CULTIVATION OPENED IN MORDOVIA

The second installment of Mir Tsvetov (World of Flowers) complex was opened in Kadoshkino regional center. The new greenhouses with an area of more than three hectares will increase the production of roses to eight million per year. Today, Mordovia takes 15 percent of the Russian market for freshly cut roses. More than 40 regions of the Russian Federation, as well as the Republic of Belarus, buy flowers from this region.

According to the press service of the head of the Republic of Mordovia, 560 million rubles were invested in the creation of the new complex. Almost half of it (249 million rubles) was an interest-free loan from the Monotown Development Fund. The equipment was supplied by a foreign partner: the Dutch company called Dalsem.

The first complex for rose cultivation in Kadoshkino has started operation in 2007. Today it includes six greenhouses with a total area of 18 hectares. This is the largest flower production in the Russian Federation with the widest range of roses.
