A production site for assembling Sinara 6254 trolleybuses has been opened in Saransk

On September 17, the production site of the company Sinara‑Urban Machines (Sinara‑UM) for the large‑unit assembly of Sinara‑6254 trolleybuses was launched. The launch was attended by Artem Zdunov, Head of the Republic of Mordovia, and Alexander Shokhin, President of the RSPP. The guests were welcomed by Sergey Shunin, General Director of Sinara‑UM.

The site has been set up on the basis of the municipal enterprise Gorelektrotrans. This is an example of effective partnership between the region, the municipality, and a major industrial holding. The project not only strengthens the city’s transport infrastructure but also builds new production competencies in the republic, expands cooperation with local suppliers, and creates additional jobs.

The assembly capacity is designed to produce 150 trolleybuses over four years, with volumes being increased step by step: 10 vehicles are planned for 2026, and another 140 units by 2029. In the long term, the annual output may reach approximately 50 trolleybuses.

Production is being developed in stages without interrupting the cycle. In 2026, interior work is being carried out at the site — installing seats, upholstery, handrails, heaters, and telematics systems. In 2027, the installation of electrical equipment will be added, including energy storage systems manufactured in Saransk by the company Algoritm S. In 2028, a full assembly cycle will be implemented, including the installation of the power unit and commissioning. An important element of localisation is the Saransk‑based Algoritm S production facility, which has been manufacturing hardware and software complexes for trolleybus energy storage systems since 2025.
