Kazakhstan is Mordovia’s largest foreign trade partner

On May 15, the Mordovia delegation held a meeting with Arman Shakkaliyev, Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the sidelines of the International Economic Forum Russia — Islamic World: KazanForum.

Kazakhstan is among the key foreign trade partners of our republic — its share in the total export volume exceeds 40 %. Over recent years, the trade turnover has almost doubled. The republic exports rolling stock, cable products, electrical equipment, and foodstuffs. In turn, Kazakhstan supplies machinery, chemical products, plastics, and paper.

Currently, the Republic of Kazakhstan ranks first in terms of the volume of products exported from Mordovia. In April of this year, an office of the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan opened in Saransk.

“We will enrich our interaction with new content. We thank the leadership of Mordovia for being open to cooperation. For Kazakhstan, Russia has been and remains a key strategic partner and reliable ally. We are ready to be a good partner,” said Arman Shakkaliyev.

At the meeting, the parties agreed that a business mission of the Republic of Mordovia to the Republic of Kazakhstan will take place this autumn. The business mission programme will include meetings with industry associations, visits to industrial enterprises, and negotiations on cooperation in the industrial sector and agriculture.
