Mordovia and Beeline will join forces for the digital development of the region

The Republic of Mordovia and PJSC “VimpelCom” have signed a cooperation agreement within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The document was signed by the Head of Mordovia, Artyom Zdunov, and Sergey Anokhin, General Director of PJSC “VimpelCom”.

The agreement provides for the expansion of long-term cooperation between the parties for the development of the digital economy in the region. In particular, the document deals with the introduction of “Smart City” elements and new technologies and processes for infrastructure development in the region, the use of artificial intelligence for tourism development, migration and transport infrastructure analysis, and much more in the field of digital transformation of the region. In addition, the agreement deals with the development and implementation of pilot projects, including in the field of security.

As part of the development of the tourism sector, the parties discussed the elimination of "white spots" - the territories of the republic where there is no cellular connection yet. One of these territories is the pilgrimage and tourist cluster in the Temnikovsky district.

"Mordovia is expanding its cooperation with “VimpelCom”. The agreement is an important step in strengthening this cooperation and implementing new projects in the field of digitalization and telecommunications. The most important thing is that all this is aimed at improving people's quality of life," stressed the Head of Mordovia. "We are jointly implementing initiatives to introduce innovations and create modern solutions for businesses and residents of the republic!"

"The signed agreement will allow us to interact even more actively with colleagues from the regional government on issues of digital development of the republic, increase the success of the planned projects, and also provide additional opportunities for expanding the telecom infrastructure," said Sergey Anokhin, CEO of PJSC “VimpelCom”. "I am confident that by combining our efforts and sharing best practices, we will be able not only to accelerate the digital transformation of key sectors of the economy, but also to find new effective approaches."
