Mordovia and Russian Agricultural Bank will develop the organic market
An agreement on cooperation between the Republic of Mordovia and the Russian Agricultural Bank was signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The document was signed by the Head of Mordovia, Artyom Zdunov, and the Chairman of the Board of the Russian Agricultural Bank, Boris Listov. The parties identified the implementation of projects aimed at increasing the production and consumption of organic products as one of the most important points of the document.
In particular, it provides for raising public awareness about healthy nutrition and the availability of domestic organic products, integrating organic products into the procurement system in social and educational institutions, and assisting small farms in the sale of organic products.
"Russian Agricultural Bank and the Republic of Mordovia have extensive experience in fruitful cooperation. We appreciate the trust of local farmers. The share of the Bank in seasonal work is close to 90%, in the farmers' lending market – about 75%. We have allocated more than 161 billion rubles to the agro-industrial complex of Mordovia, and over 200 joint investment projects ensure the production of over 40% of milk, 67% of meat, and 62% of eggs in the republic. Another promising area of cooperation is organic products, which are about human health. We will develop this area," Boris Listov noted.
It should be noted that in Mordovia, increased attention is being paid to the organic market. Of the six producers, three have received grants from the Russian Agricultural Bank to compensate for certification costs, a competition for knowledge of organic products for schoolchildren has been held since 2022, and in 2025, with the support of the Bank, it is planned to implement the “Organic for Children” project to supply organic milk to preschool institutions.
"Baby food is the foundation of a healthy future for our children and a priority for us. Mordovia is launching a pilot project to introduce organic dairy products into children's diets. Today we are signing an agreement with Russian Agricultural Bank and launching this project on September 1 of this year," said the Head of Mordovia.
It should be noted that the project was supported at the meeting of the commission of the “Organica” Foundation.
The agreement as a whole is aimed at solving priority tasks of socio-economic development of the Republic of Mordovia, strengthening its agricultural and industrial potential. In particular, the parties intend to increase the investment attractiveness of the region, support small and medium-sized businesses, and improve the quality of banking services to the public. The Russian Agricultural Bank has ensured 100% availability of banking services in the region.
