MORDOVIA DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION TOOK PART IN A VIDEO CONFERENCE ON THE TOPIC OF ATTRACTING FOREIGN WORKERS

Fatima Gatieva, Advisor to the General Director of the Mordovia Development Corporation, took part in a meeting on the issues of attracting foreign workers from countries with visa entry regimes into the Russian Federation. The video conference was initiated by the Ivanovo Region Committee on Labor, Promotion of Employment and Labor Migration, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in the Russian Federation.

The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, Janitha Abeywickrema Liyanage, provided a detailed account to the meeting participants about the possibilities of attracting workers from her country. Primarily, this involves sectors such as textile manufacturing, garment production, agriculture, and mechanical engineering. With the existence of quotas, the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Agency, in collaboration with the Embassy, will organize the recruitment and relocation of workers.

At the same time, it was reported that they are ready to develop mechanisms that would simplify the process of importing labor. The issue of employers’ responsibility for non-compliance with migration legislation was also discussed.

Furthermore, a dialogue took place regarding the procedure for obtaining quotas for issuing work permits to foreign citizens arriving in the Russian Federation on a visa basis.
