MORDOVIA IS AMONG THE LEADERS IN RUSSIA IN ORGANIZING SEPARATE WASTE COLLECTION
Mordovia is leading in the work on the formation of a system for the separate collection of electronic and electrical waste. Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia Alexander Kozlov sent gratitude to the Head of the region for the effective implementation of the federal environmental program «School of Recycling: Electronics» of the Fund for Rational Nature Management.
A balanced system of work with both solid municipal and industrial waste has been created in the republic. A significant proportion of electronic waste collected under the federal environmental program «School of Recycling: Electronics», which has been operating in Mordovia since 2018, is processed in the region. During this time, more than 450 organizations of various fields of activity have joined the program, which have transferred for processing and prevented over 1,500 tons of waste electronic and electrical equipment from entering the environment.
In 2022, an agreement on cooperation within the framework of the program was signed between the Government of the Republic and the Fund for Rational Nature Management.
