Mordovia is among the pilot regions of the gastronomic program "I'll drive through Russia!"
At the International Tourism Forum "Travel!" the Agency for Strategic Initiatives presented 11 pilot regions selected to participate in the All-Russian program "I'll drive through Russia!".
The program is aimed at preserving and promoting the gastronomic heritage of the country's peoples, as well as forming a recognizable gastronomic brand in each region.
The pilots included the Republic of Mordovia, Tomsk, Belgorod, Murmansk, Ivanovo, Tula, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk regions, Kamchatka and Perm Territories, Sevastopol.
During the selection process, the working group examined more than 70 gastronomic passports compiled by the regions according to a single methodology, which reflected taste identity, culinary traditions, local products and points of growth of the gastronomy industry. The selection criteria also included the completeness of the analysis, team involvement and a strategic approach to the development of gastronomy.
The presentation of the regions took place within the framework of the session "I'll drive through Russia! Taste as a strategy: creating a gastronomic identity by regions."
"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the regional team for their efforts and professionalism in compiling the gastronomic passport of Mordovia. The republic's participation in the pilot program "I'll drive through Russia!" will undoubtedly help the region to increase its tourist attractiveness and attract even more guests from other regions of the country," Oksana Larina, Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade and Entrepreneurship of Mordovia, said during the presentation of the gastronomic features of the republic.
In the coming months, the pilot regions and the project team will begin developing gastronomic codes: from analytics and branding to creating routes and services.
