Mordovia joined the implementation of the regional standard for the development of creative industries

The Republic of Mordovia has officially joined the implementation of the regional standard for the development of creative industries. The relevant document was signed by the Head of the republic Artyom Zdunov and the Director General of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) Svetlana Chupsheva.

Creative industries are a socio-economic and socio-cultural trend of recent years. "The creative industries are what we will live with, what our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will live with," said Artyom Zdunov. - "Robotization in industry and artificial intelligence lead to the release of people in the economy, but they are in demand in the creative industries. This is the future!" Svetlana Chupsheva noted that Mordovia, with its unique cultural heritage and powerful creative potential, is able to bring the creative economy to a new level and multiply its contribution to the regional budget.

"Today, the creative industries still occupy a modest share in the country's economy - only 3.5% of GDP. However, we face an ambitious task set by the President: to double this figure. For comparison, in the world leaders, this sector reaches 10% or more. At the same time, the growth rate of the creative economy is impressive - 20-25% per year, which is significantly higher than in traditional industries. An important step in this direction was the adoption of the Federal Law "On the Development of Creative Industries", which entered into force at the beginning of the year. This document not only provides a clear definition of the sector, but also creates the legal basis for the formation of a support system at the federal and regional levels. The Agency for Strategic Initiatives is actively involved in developing roadmaps for each industry. Our goal is to identify growth points and mechanisms of interaction with related industries. After all, it is at the junction of areas - be it cinema, publishing, animation, architecture or design - that the most interesting and promising projects are born," she said.

In Mordovia, systematic work is underway to develop creative industries, including the creation of educational centers, holding specialized events and providing comprehensive support to entrepreneurs in this sector. The Showcase of Creative Industries, a specialized platform for the presentation of goods and services of creative business representatives, as well as an Agency for the Development of Creative Industries, are successfully operating in the region. A landmark infrastructure facility has become the creative cluster "Factory 1901" in Saransk, where exhibitions, educational lectures and practical seminars for creative industry professionals are systematically held.

In 2024, Mordovia joined the “Cinema of Russia” project: an agreement was signed between the Republic, the Association of Film and Television Producers and the Agency at the ASI site. A regional film commission has been established in Mordovia, which is engaged in the presentation of the republic in the film industry and facilitates filming processes.

"It was extremely important to form a professional project team for the development of creative industries and ensure its participation in competent systematic work. Creative economy allows us to take a fresh look at our traditions, thus reforming them. Currently, there are two Schools of Creative Industries operating in the republic - based on art and music schools. The first one has an ethno-fashion Design Laboratory. The third school in Ardatov will open in September. Today, it is impossible to imagine the development of the industry without such modern spaces that attract young people and creative professionals," said Svetlana Baulina, Minister of Culture, National Policy and Archival Affairs of the Republic of Mordovia.

Today, the creative industries are developing in many directions. Director Tatiana Sidorkina told about the ethno-art theater "Varma".

Alexander Bochkin, CEO of Infomaximum LLC, shared his experience in promoting Saransk as the capital of process analytics.

Entrepreneurs Artur Salyakaev and Alexander Shiryaev spoke about the use of the national component in business.

Ksenia Votyakova, Head of the office's department, reported on the work of the regional project office of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives.

Elena Semeleva, Deputy Head of the Administration of the Head of the Republic of Mordovia and the Government of the Republic of Mordovia, spoke about how work is being done to preserve culture and language through cinematography. "This is a new direction for Mordovia - we started developing it in July 2024," she said. - "Mordovia is the national republic closest to the federal center, we have 22 municipal districts, all of them preserve their culture. We support this and understand that it is our value, and it must be conveyed to young people in the right format. This year we held a film lab - it was very interesting for our youth. We will continue this work."
