MORE THAN 732 THOUSAND TONS OF SUGAR BEET WERE HARVESTED IN MORDOVIA
Sugar beet harvesting has been completed in Ardatovsky, Kochkurovsky and Bolsheignatovsky districts. This is reported by the republican edition of «Izvestiya Mordovii». The gross harvest of root crops amounted to more than 158.6 thousand tons.
These days, harvesting continues in the fields of the remaining six districs, which this year were engaged in beet sowing. Romodanovsky and Ichalkovsky districts have the largest areas, which also came very close to the finish of the harvest. In total, sugar beet has been harvested in the republic to date from 21.3 thousand hectares or 94.2% of the areas where it was sown.
With an average yield of 343.8 centners per hectare, more than 732.4 thousand tons of raw materials for sugar production were collected.
