SPIEF: Artem Zdunov and Andrey Ryumin Discussed Development of Mordovia's Electric Grid Complex
Artem Zdunov, Head of the Republic of Mordovia, and Andrey Ryumin, CEO of PJSC Rosseti, held a meeting at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. It was noted that the efficient work of energy companies provides a reliable foundation for the region's economic and social development. The possibility of strengthening cooperation, including in industrial cooperation, was discussed.
"The industrial sector of the Republic of Mordovia actively cooperates with the Rosseti Group. In particular, the company's facilities widely use cable and wire products manufactured in the region. We have every opportunity to expand this cooperation," noted Artem Zdunov.
The parties also reviewed the progress of priority projects in the grid complex.
"Last year, we opened a modern Grid Control Center in Mordovia. This has significantly improved the reliability of electricity supply to consumers. "Currently, plans are underway to build a substation for the creation of an industrial park and the development of a special economic zone, which will generate new investments and additional tax revenues for the republic's budget," noted Andrey Ryumin.
In total, the Rosseti Group will allocate over 1 billion rubles to finance infrastructure projects in Mordovia in 2026. As part of their collaboration with a major agricultural holding, energy companies will connect modern livestock farms, a grain processing, storage, and transshipment plant, and a feed production facility to the grid.
Also in the near future are plans to technically upgrade two 220 kV main substations, which are key components of Mordovia's power grid. They provide electricity to Saransk and surrounding areas.
