SPIEF: Artem Zdunov and Svetlana Chupsheva Discuss Joint Projects of the ASI and Mordovia
At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a meeting was held between Artem Zdunov, Head of Mordovia, and Svetlana Chupsheva, General Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI). The discussion focused on implementing joint projects that promote the development of the economy, social sphere, municipalities, and entrepreneurial initiatives.
“For us, interaction with the ASI is not just about participating in federal projects and rankings — it’s a real tool,” noted the regional leader. “Over recent years, thanks to our joint work, we have significantly strengthened the region’s investment climate. These results are confirmed by economic indicators: in 2025, the growth rate of investment volume is among the best in the Volga Federal District (VFD) regions. It’s important that non‑budgetary investments are growing. Our cooperation with the Agency now covers not only the investment agenda but also new development areas — gastronomic and industrial tourism.”
It was noted that joint efforts to develop civic initiatives play an important role. The Strong Ideas for a New Era forum has become a popular platform for residents of Mordovia to implement socially significant projects. Last year, the region submitted around two thousand ideas — ranking fifth nationwide. Public engagement remains high. A similar trend is observed in the Know Our Brands competition: an increasing number of entrepreneurs are ready to develop local products and expand to the federal level.
Mordovia places great emphasis on implementing the Regional Standard for the Development of Creative Industries — a new growth point for the economy. Priority areas include IT, the film industry, intellectual property, and production management.
Systematic work continues within the framework of the National Social Initiative and the National Model of Target Business Environment Conditions. The parties discussed practical solutions that improve people’s quality of life, reduce administrative barriers, and create comfortable conditions for investors and entrepreneurs.
Special attention was given to the municipal agenda. ASI experts held a strategic session in the capital of Mordovia on the investment potential of municipalities. The next strategic session will take place in July of this year and will focus on involving municipalities in implementing the National Model of Target Business Environment Conditions.
On the same day, the Head of Mordovia also took part in the presentation of the Know Our Brands exhibition by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives.
