SPIEF: Mordovia and STM Sign Agreement to Establish Trolleybus Assembly Facility

At the SPIEF, Artem Zdunov, Head of the Republic of Mordovia, and Alexander Misharin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sinara – Transport Machines (STM), signed a memorandum of intent to implement an investment project in the Republic to establish an assembly production complex. The complex is planned to produce Sinara 6254 trolleybuses for Saransk and other Russian cities.

The Republic of Mordovia will provide a production site for the project and the necessary organizational and legal support. STM will organize production, including the supply of vehicle kits, installation of the necessary technological equipment, personnel training, and technical support.

"The Republic's enterprises have experience working with Sinara Group companies on the supply of our products, including lighting components and power semiconductor devices. "We have great potential for expanding our cooperation, including through the implementation of a new investment project. This will create new jobs and generate additional revenue for the republic's budget. We look forward to a fruitful partnership," noted Artem Zdunov.

The estimated production volume will be approximately 50 vehicles per year. The parties have already begun implementing the investment project, and the first batch of vehicles for Saransk will be produced by the end of 2026.

The new assembly plant will operate in cooperation with the Algorithm Tech facility in Saransk (an STM perimeter plant), which opened in 2025 and produces energy storage systems for Sinara trolleybuses. Algorithm Tech has equipped and launched facilities for mechanical processing and welding of metal body structures, harness production, and assembly of transport energy storage systems. A test field for verifying temperature and climate testing, electrical safety and noise immunity, and calibrating measuring equipment is successfully operating.
