SPIEF: Mordovia and the Moskvich Automobile Plant Sign Cooperation Agreement
The Republic of Mordovia and the Moskvich Automobile Plant signed a cooperation agreement on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The document was signed by Artem Zdunov, Head of Mordovia, and Elena Frolova, General Director of JSC MAZ Moskvich. The agreement provides, among other things, for expanded cooperation and the development of transportation projects in the Republic.
"Mordovia has proven that social transportation can be modern, accessible, and efficient. We were the first in Russia to launch a municipal family taxi service, based at Gorelectrotrans, using Moskvich vehicles. Today, the numbers speak for themselves: nearly 700 orders daily, over 16,000 trips completed since December, and our fleet consists of 31 Moskvich vehicles," noted Artem Zdunov, adding that we will increase this to 36 vehicles by the end of the year. The implementation of the family taxi project contributes to improving the quality of life for residents, creating new jobs, and developing comfortable urban infrastructure. Mordovia confirms its status as a reliable partner, ready to scale up the successful municipal social transportation model based on the Moskvich platform.
The automobile plant not only supplied the vehicles but also provided their maintenance. Service contracts with the plant's authorized dealers provide for priority booking, warranty service, spare parts supply, and vehicle upgrades.
The head of Mordovia discussed plans to expand the family taxi fleet with the automobile plant's general director.
