SPIEF: Mordovia to Boost International Trade with Sber’s Support

At SPIEF 2026, the Republic of Mordovia and Sber have agreed to jointly develop foreign economic cooperation and expand the region’s export potential. The cooperation agreement was signed by Artem Zdunov, Head of Mordovia, and Mikhail Chachin, Vice President and Director of the Public Sector Department at Sberbank PJSC.

The parties are launching a joint programme for digitalising exports and supporting local producers — without financial obligations, but with full legal transparency.

The main goal of the agreement is to speed up business processes in import and export operations. To achieve this, companies will switch to electronic document management, which will significantly reduce согласование times. At the same time, Sber will act as a navigator for local businesses. Companies will receive help in finding new sales markets via analytical platforms, as well as training on the nuances of currency legislation and customs clearance procedures.

Special attention will be given to international contacts. Joint business missions are planned, including online events with digital partner‑matching services. Entrepreneurs from the republic will receive comprehensive banking support — from international payments and letters of credit to currency control.

Joint analytical projects are also in the pipeline, focusing on monitoring global market conditions. In addition, regular meetings and roundtables involving government bodies will be held to develop new solutions.

“Today we have signed a strategic document that will help our producers gain additional access to foreign markets,” said Artem Zdunov, Head of Mordovia. “Sber is taking on the complex work: currency control, partner search, training, and transaction support. Meanwhile, the republic is creating the necessary conditions. There are no hidden fees, no obligations — just joint work towards results. This is an honest partnership where businesses win, and ultimately, every resident of Mordovia benefits.”

Mikhail Chachin, Vice President and Director of the Public Sector Department at Sberbank PJSC, noted that Sber’s partnerships with regions are never limited to lending: “Our primary goal is people’s well‑being. This agreement will help the republic strengthen its foreign trade and take it to a new, higher level. As a result, successful exporters will be able to create new jobs and boost budget revenues — meaning the regional government will have more opportunities to improve people’s lives, for instance by building new social facilities. Local businesses will gain a ‘seamless’ technology for entering foreign markets — from finding buyers via a digital platform to legally sound transaction execution and currency control.”
