Technical readiness of the new Intermunicipal Waste Treatment Complex was checked in Mordovia

On July 1, technical readiness for the launch of the site of the intermunicipal waste treatment complex built in the Lyambirsky district of Mordovia was checked. The facility was created as part of the national project "Environmental Well-being" and is designed to sort 180 thousand tons of solid waste per year.

Recall that Russian President Vladimir Putin has set a goal for all solid waste to be sorted in the country by 2030, and at least a quarter of it to be recycled. Federal funds in the amount of 1.2 billion rubles were received for construction with the support of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and the republic's strategic partner in the field of solid municipal waste management, the “Russian Environmental Operator”. In total, the construction of the innovative waste sorting complex cost 2.3 billion rubles.

There will be several sorting lines with a single automatic control system. The facility is designed to receive municipal solid waste, sample and grind bulky waste, sort secondary resources, and produce alternative fuels. The technological process of waste sorting has a high degree of automation. About 15% of the waste will fall into the category of renewable resources.

The most important element of the complex is an alternative fuel production line, which is actively used in the industrial sector. More than a third of all waste will be used for the production of RDF fuel. In general, the presence of such a modern complex will have a positive impact on the environmental situation in the region.

On the site of the complex, the Head of Mordovia, Artyom Zdunov, heard a report on the technical readiness of the complex. The specialists assured that the equipment had been tested and was ready for operation, after which they performed its technical launch.

The head of the region inspected the solid waste loading area and sorting lines. It was noted that about 300 people will work at the utility company. Recruitment of personnel who will be sent for training is already underway. The communal facility is provided with all necessary engineering networks. Landscaping of the surrounding area will be carried out at the final stage. The Head of the Republic drew attention to the need to ensure all security measures at the facility, as well as the quality of the remaining types of work.
