THE GOVERNMENT OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION HAS ALLOCATED OVER 5 BILLION RUBLES FOR A PREFERENTIAL LOAN PROGRAM TO FINANCE THE PROCUREMENT OF PRIORITY IMPORTED GOODS
Over 5 billion rubles will be allocated to subsidize a special preferential loan program for the procurement of economically important imported goods. This was reported on the official website of the Russian Government.
The allocated funds will subsidize previously issued loans to importers totaling approximately 140 billion rubles and maintain the preferential interest rate for borrowers.
Preferential loans for the procurement of priority imported goods were introduced in May 2022. The government implemented this measure to help businesses reduce current expenses and ensure the supply of all necessary goods and resources. The list of such goods includes food products, medicines, pharmaceutical products, vehicles, building materials, various machinery, agricultural equipment, and electronics.
According to the press service of the Russian Government, over 14.6 billion rubles were allocated in the 2024 federal budget to support this program.
