THE HEAD OF MORDOVIA AND THE FIRST DEPUTY MINISTER OF INDUSTRY AND TRADE OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION, VASILY OSMAKOV, DISCUSSED THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE INDUSTRIAL SECTOR OF THE REPUBLIC
On April 22 in Moscow, a meeting took place between the Head of Mordovia, Artyom Zdunov, and the First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, Vasily Osmakov. The implementation of important projects in the industrial sector in the republic and further development of the region's industry were discussed.
The discussion revolved around the implementation of the “2nd Launch Complex” project as part of the establishment of a full-cycle optical fiber production. Construction of the second launch complex of the optical fiber production plant in Saransk, aimed at producing its own blanks (preforms) for fiber drawing, is scheduled for 2024-2026. The facility's design is currently being conducted according to schedule.
The head of the republic noted that the implementation of the project within the approved roadmap is strategically important for the country. It will allow reducing dependence on imported supplies, lowering production costs, and increasing the competitiveness of products of the JSC “Optical Fiber Systems”. The new plant will become part of our special economic zone “Sistema”. Currently, the facility is in the design stage.
