The Republic of Mordovia will receive additional support for agricultural insurance
The total amount of federal funds allocated to support agricultural insurance this year exceeds 5.5 billion rubles across the Russian Federation. The Government of the Russian Federation will additionally allocate more than 670 million rubles to compensate for the costs incurred by regional agricultural producers due to adverse weather conditions. The funding will be distributed to 21 regions that reported an additional need in 2026, including the Republic of Mordovia.
“We expect that, thanks to the measures taken, the agro‑industrial complex will continue to achieve high results, develop its production capacities, and, most importantly, provide people with high‑quality products,” said Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, at a meeting with deputy prime ministers.
For 2026, 20 million rubles from the federal budget were allocated to support livestock insurance in the republic. The additional need amounts to 12 million rubles. These funds will help compensate for part of the costs incurred by agricultural producers for paying insurance premiums under agricultural animal insurance contracts.
Agricultural insurance allows producers to protect themselves against the risks of livestock loss resulting from infectious diseases, force majeure events (such as fire, flooding, hurricanes, floods, or lightning strikes), and other circumstances. The state compensates up to 50 % of the costs for insurance premiums.
Currently, 94,500 heads of livestock are insured in the region. Additional funding will enable agricultural producers to insure more livestock and reach the target figure of 331,900 heads.
