YOUNG SCIENTISTS FROM MORDOVIA ARE WINNERS OF THE PRESIDENTIAL PROGRAM OF RESEARCH PROJECTS

The winners of the 2021 youth competitions of the Presidential Program of Research Projects conducted by the Russian Science Foundation have been announced. According to the results of the competitions, the foundation supported 469 initiative projects of young scientists in the amount of 1.5-2 million rubles annually, 318 youth research groups with funding of 3-6 million rubles.

According to the press service of the Ogarev State University, the first competition was aimed at supporting young people under the age of 33 who defended their candidate's theses. 1.4 thousand applications were received for the competition, 469 projects were supported by the expert council. Among the winners is Artemij Balykov, an engineer of the Laboratory of environmental and meteorological Monitoring, construction technologies and expertise with the project "Designing compositions, modeling the structure and properties of high-strength lightweight concrete using machine learning methods".

The second competition is aimed at supporting a new generation of scientific leaders. The Foundation provides grants for young candidates and doctors of science under the age of 35. The size of the grant is up to 6 million rubles annually, its duration is 3 years with the possibility of prolongation on a competitive basis for another 2 years. For these funds, young researchers should not only offer an interesting idea, but also gather around themselves a youth scientific group in order to implement this project as leaders.
